Manila, Philippines – The Amihan National Federation of Peasant Women condemned the cold-blooded killing of Sonya Gregorio and her son Frank by a fascist police personnel Jonel Nuezca during a heated argument in Paniqui, Tarlac on December 19, 2020. The group said that the culture of killings and police brutality was Duterte’s marching orders to his state forces in the country.

” We should condemn this barbaric act of fascist Nuezca for killing the Gregorios which comes from Duterte’s mandate to disregard human rights and kill innocent and civilians.

As Duterte’s latest marching order to his law enforcement dated last December 3 stated as “Wala akong pakialam sa human rights na yan. I’m telling the law enforcement, uniformed personnel, do your duty. Do it in accordance with law pero be alert and be wise. The Amihan peasant women group said that this was essentially his marching order to target innocent, civilians, activists, farmers, peasant women and other human rights defenders in the country.

Amihan said that when Duterte accused ‘legal fronts’ of ‘magtago na kayo,’ last April 2020 during his press briefing based on the video, “Ang utos ko sa kanila, patayin kayo? Eh di patayin ninyo rin. Lahat na. Tapusin na natin ‘to sa panahon ko. I have two more years, I will try to finish all of you. Subsequently, EJKs on activists have been incessant, red-tagging intensified, so are illegal arrest and detention and filing of trumped-up charges to activitist and people’s organizations, perpertrated by his state forces.
